Yumm, I also love Almond Joys. I'll definitely have to go for the semi-sweet, because I love dark chocolate, which always make me wish that Mounds had almonds in them. I'd love it if you shared these over at my link party. http://acraftycook.blogspot.com/2012/08/1-month-of-fun-august-link-party.html

Just found your blog and am dying to try some of the recipes I've found here. I have a great Almond Joy recipe, it's actually bars that you cook and dip, but this is way easier. Can't wait to try it. I also have 5 sisters, but my dad is an only child and wanted a boy, to carry on the name, so they bought one. (Well, guess they call it adopted;o) Love the blog and can't wait to find more wonderful stuff to create.

  12. Jason Amanda Opper says:

Do you have to use the sour cream or is there a substitute I could use?

  13. Six Sisters says:

We have always followed the recipe. But a substitute for sour cream is plain yogurt.

  14. Lisa H. says:

These look great! How many cookies are made with one batch? Also, what kind of almonds do you use (roasted? salted/unsalted?)
    Thanks!
    Lisa

  15. Six Sisters says:

They make about 2 dozen. We just bought almonds in the bulk section of our grocery store. They weren't coated in salt as you can see from the picture. Roasted would be good.

  16. Jen says:

Question: If I make these to go on a cookie/treat tray as a gift for friends and neighbors, how would I package them? Would I need to, like, put each one on a muffin liner, or what? My husband was looking at the recipe and said, "You know, for a second set, you could leave out the almond, use darker chocolate instead, and call them Mounds Cookies." I think he's on to something. (So glad I married him...LOL!)

  17. Cyd says:

These really hold their shape and could be given away on small plates wrapped in plastic wrap or cellophane. You could also package them in cute little cellophane gift bags that usually come with twist ties.

  18. Jana says:

I just made these this morning and they turned out horrible! They totally flattened out and completely stuck to the paper - like baked into the paper.I tried using my silpat for the next batch and they even stuck to that. Seriously, I couldn't scrape them off for anything. They didn't hold their shape at all either-the entire batch was a total loss. :( Where did I go wrong?? Any tips?

  19. Joyce Whitlock says:

Could I do the same thing with white chocolate? And if so when I do it exactly the same way with the vegetable oil
